Juan Carlos Silva Maya (born 6 February 1988) is a Mexican soccer midfielder. He currently plays for Murciélagos F.C. in the Ascenso MX league of Mexico.[1]

He made his league debut for America on 12 August 2007 against Chiapas in a 6-1 victory at the Estadio Azteca.[1]

Silva has represented his country in international competition, competing for Mexico U-17 squad in the 2005 U-17 FIFA World Cup, which Mexico won. He has also has been called to the Mexican U-23 team for the 2008 Olympic Qualifiers.

Assault

In February 2010 he was shot in the buttocks during an attempted robbery in Mexico City, only a week after his team-mate Salvador Cabañas was shot in the head in a bar.[2]
