Kärkölä is a municipality of Finland. Its seat is in Järvelä.

It is located in the province of Southern Finland and is part of the Päijänne Tavastia region. The municipality has a population of 4,642 (30 June 2015)[2] and covers an area of 259.31 square kilometres (100.12 sq mi) of which 2.84 km2 (1.10 sq mi) is water.[1] The population density is 18.1 inhabitants per square kilometre (47/sq mi).

Neighbour municipalities: Hausjärvi, Hollola, Hämeenkoski, Hämeenlinna, Mäntsälä and Orimattila.

The municipality is unilingually Finnish.
