History

The station went on the air as KPUP on August 2, 2000. On July 22, 2003, the station changed its call sign to the current KPKK.[2]

According to FCC records, the station ceased broadcasting in February 2008 due to "adverse financial conditions". The latest request to remain silent was filed in October, 2012 and was approved by the FCC. As of February, 2013 the station's license is still active. As of February 2015 KPKK Still remains Silent As of August 2015 It has been rumored that KPKK 101.1 has applied for a license to broadcast again KPKK-FM AMARGOSA VALLEY, NV files a license to cover operation
