The station broadcasts with a pattern to the southwest, to protect other stations broadcasting on or near 1190 in neighboring states, as well to protect Class-A clear-channel stations KEX in Portland, Oregon and XEWK-AM in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico at night.
