The KTM Komuter Southern Sector is the fourth KTM Komuter service operated by Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad and the second outside the Klang Valley after the KTM Komuter Northern Sector. The service was introduced on 10 October 2015.[1]

The service is branded as the KTM Komuter Southern Sector Shuttle Train, translated from Tren Shuttle KTM Komuter Sektor Selatan in Bahasa Malaysia), and runs between Seremban and Gemas. The service is being introduced following the completion of the Seremban-Gemas Electrified Double Tracking Project on 30 October 2013.

Line

The KTM Komuter Southern Sector consists of two lines:

The distance between Seremban and Gemas is 102 km and the train journey will take 38 minutes from Seremban and Pulau Sebang/Tampin, and an additional 27 minutes to Gemas.

The service runs 59 times a day, with 55 train services between Seremban and Pulau Sebang/Tampin, and another 4 train services being extended to Gemas. At the beginning of the service, the train frequency between Seremban and Pulau Sebang/Tampin is one train every 30 minutes during peak hours, and 1 hour on off-peak. First train departs at 5:00am and the last train at 11:00pm.

With the commencement of this service, all trains of the Seremban Line which ran between Rawang and Sungai Gadut as well as the extended services to Rembau, now terminate at Seremban. Passengers wishing to continue their journey to Senawang, Sungai Gadut and Rembau have to transfer to the KTM Komuter Southern Sector at Seremban.[2]

The station is 1 km from Tampin Bus Terminal as it is located at Pulau Sebang on the Melaka side of the border. Buses cost around RM5.00 between Melaka Sentral and Tampin and take around one hour, depending on traffic. Taxis cost RM35.00 upwards one way.
