Karen Susana Schwarz Espinoza (born 21 January 1984 in Callao, Perú) is a Peruvian actress, TV Host and beauty pageant titleholder who represented her country in Miss Universe 2009 that was held in Nassau, Bahamas on August 23, 2009.[1] She is the co-host of Yo Soy.

Life and career

Schwarz won the Miss Perú Universo 2009 title in a pageant held in Lima, Perú on April 4, 2009. She was crowned by the outgoing titleholder, Karol Castillo, Miss Perú Universo 2008. Schwarz also won the "Miss Fitness" title.[1] Later, she represented her country in Miss Universe 2009 that was held in Nassau, Bahamas on August 23, 2009.

Karen became the third Miss Amazonas to win that title since the Miss Peru pageant first began in 1952. The first was Maria Esther Brambilla, Miss Peru 1968, and the other one was Paola Dellepiani in 1995. Karen is of German and Peruvian origin. She likes practicing swimming.

In 2011, she was part of the cast of the TV game show El último pasajero as one of the three "aire hostess", host by Adolfo Aguilar.[2] She also became representative, image and brand partner of Álika.

In 2012, she represented Peru in Buenos Aires Fashion Week, as an ambassador for Sedal.[3] Then, Schwarz assumed the co-hosting of the reality show Yo soy, again with Aguilar on Frecuencia Latina.[4][5] Months later, she began to hosts the show Espectáculos by the same channel.[6]

Schwarz will be continued as co-hostess in Yo Soy on Frecuencia Latina in 2013.[7] Schwarz will debut as an actress in a role for the film Japy Ending to be released in 2014.[8]
