Martine Andraos (born 11 August 1990 in Kafaraaka, Koura district, Lebanon) was Miss Lebanon 2009.

Early life and education

Born in a Lebanese Eastern Orthodox Christian family, she completed her high school studies at the Lycee Franco-Libanais. In 2008, after obtaining her French and Lebanese bacaleaureat she enrolled in her Business Administration studies at the Lebanese American University. She graduated with a BS in Marketing in 2011. She is currently pursuing an MA degree in Political Science and International Affairs at the Lebanese American University.

Miss Lebanon

Martine competed in the Miss Lebanon competition. She was crowned Miss Lebanon on June 26, 2009 in a broadcast held LIVE in Beirut, Lebanon on LBC.[1][2] Martine represented Lebanon in Miss Universe 2009 which took place on Nassau, Bahamas on August 23, 2009. She also represented Lebanon in the Miss World 2009 pageant that took place in South Africa where she was noted for her outstanding poise, and elegance but again failed to make it as a semi-finalist.

Activism

Since she was a teenager, Martine was an active member in her society and a responsible citizen. As Miss Lebanon,she adopted "water crisis in Lebanon" as her main project. She worked with the United Nations to raise awareness and enlighten people about the best ways to manage the water resources in her country knowing that Lebanon is very rich in water. She also worked with local ministries and NGO's to benefit to the most from the Lebanese natural water sources whether in environmental, agricultural, industrial projects. Alongside her project, Martine participated in various social, charity, civic and political activities. Martine is known for her Lebanese nationalism and Christian conservatism.
