Kashmir Life is a weekly news magazine published from Srinagar, the capital of Indian administrated Kashmir. It is the largest selling weekly in Kashmir.
History
Kashmir Life was founded by late Jawhara Shawl (1965 –2013), who died at the age of 48, after fighting cancer for a long time. The first issue of the weekly was published on March 15, 2009. Ms Shawl’s health crisis had closely followed the launch of the weekly. Her idea was to link news with knowledge and contribute in creating informed opinion.
Some of the prominent writers and journalists from Kashmir whose work has appeared on the pages of magazine include Pervaiz Bhukari, Mufti Islah, Sameer Yasir, Zubair A. Dar, Jehangir Ali, Haroon Mirani, and Shahnawaz Khan, among others.
