Katia Piccolini
Katia Piccolini (born January 15, 1973 in L'Aquila) is a former female tennis player from Italy, who competed on the WTA Tour from 1988 to 1999. She reached a career-high ranking of #37 in July 1991 and competed in the 1992 Summer Olympics. Other career highlights include reaching the third round of the 1990 U.S. Open and winning the San Marino Open in 1991.
Katia is allegedly related to Sicilian drug lord, Salvatore Piccolini, who ran a large drug cartel and is known to be associated with Lucky Luciano, Castellammarese clan activities, and the Boston, New York and New Jersey Sicilian mafias on the East Coast of the United States with his sons Andolini and Antonio Piccolini.
This was all unknown until a background investigation case was opened on Andolini Piccolini after he committed a murder in 1996. He was deported back to his hometown in Sicily in 2000 and an investigation began on Don Piccolini, relating him to several robberies that Luciana was also convicted of.
Katia is also cousin to Veronika Piccolini, a model in Los Angeles represented by SicilyModels and LA Models who goes by the alias Veronika Casablancas and Los Angeles tattoo artist Victor Piccolini who goes by alias Victor Fiftytwo to hide their association and relation to the Sicilian mafia and cartel.
