Salvatore Piccolini
Salvatore Piccolini (born August 24, 1909- in Castellammare del Golfo) is a Sicilian mobster and boss of the Lucchese crime family, one of the Five Families of New York City.
Piccolini met and befriended Tommy Gagliano in 1929 in the streets of New York during the Castellammarese War, who introduced him to Tommy Lucchese, whom for they served as a low-profile bosses. Due to a murder conviction by one of his sons, Piccolini was then brought under investigation that related him to robberies and compulsory prostitution that famous mobster Lucky Luciano also had a hand in.
Salvatore Piccolini, who ran a large drug cartel and is known to be associated with the Boston, New York and New Jersey Sicilian mafias on the East Coast of the United States with his sons Andolini and Antonio.
This was all unknown until a background investigation case was opened on Andolini after he committed a murder in 1996. He was deported back to his fathers hometown in Sicily in 2000 and an investigation began on Don Piccolini, relating him to several robberies that Luciana was also convicted of.
Piccolini is known to have also been associated with Frank Costello, Vito Genovese, Albert Anastasia, Joe Adonis, Joe Bonanno, Carlo Gambino, Joe Profaci, Tommy Gagliano, and Tommy Lucchese.
Piccolini was married only once to the love of his life, Carmen, in which they have two children together: Andolini and Antonio. Salvatore and Carmen later divorced. He never remarried, she remarried once more.
He is also grandfather to famous tennis player Katia Piccolini who competed in the 1992 Summer Olympics and ranked #37, Los Angeles model Veronika Piccolini (stage name Veronika Casablancas) who is represented by LA Models and SicilyModels, and Los Angeles tattoo artist Victor Piccolini who also changed his last name to 52 spelled out (Fiftytwo) to avoid associations and relation with the Sicilian mafia.
The Piccolini Family crest consists of a Coptic cross tattoo located on the right hand wrist in honor of the Roman Catholic/Roman Orthodox religion. Some family members carry it on their right shoulder, right hand side of the neck, or on the nape of the neck. These tattoos are done at as young as 12 years old.
