Keyakizaka46 (欅坂46, Keyakizaka Forty-six) is a Japanese girl idol group, produced by Yasushi Akimoto. It was created on August 21, 2015.[1][2] It is Nogizaka46's first sister group.

History

Since October 4, 2015, the group has its own Sunday television show titled Keyakitte, Kakenai? (欅って、書けない?) on TV Tokyo.[3]

On December 16, 2015, the group gave its first performance. It took place at the Fuji TV music show FNS Music Festival. The center position in the choreography was held by youngest member Yurina Hirate (平手友梨奈), 14 at the time.[4]

In February 2016 it was revealed that Keyakizaka46 would release their first single on April 6, 2016.[5] Its title was later revealed to be "Silent Majority".[6] It was also revealed that the title song would be used in a TV commercial for a mobile application named Mechakari.[7]
