Mion Mukaichi (向井地 美音 Mukaichi Mion, born 29 January 1998) is a member of the Japanese idol girl group AKB48. She is a member of AKB48's Team K.

Biography

Mukaichi was born in Saitama Prefecture. She played tennis from 1st grade in elementary school right up to 3rd grade in junior high school.[1]

Career

Before joining the group, Mukaichi was a child actress, represented by the talent agency Central G.[2] She quit in 5th grade to concentrate on her studies,[3] and after entering junior high school, she was represented by talent agency Ii Concept.[4] She has appeared in a number of television dramas, such as Unfair, and movies, such as Unfair: The Movie.

In January 2013, Mukaichi took part and passed the AKB48's 15th generation auditions, joining the group as a trainee member.

In February 2014, during the group's Daisokaku Matsuri, Mukaichi was promoted to Team 4.[5] In April 2014, Mukaichi centered the song "Heavy Rotation", after being nominated by Yuko Oshima, who was graduating.[6] She also starred in Sailor Zombie as a guest role in episode 2.[7]

Mukaichi was selected to sing the group's 38th single title track "Kibouteki Refrain".[8] This was her first time as one of the selected members.

Mukaichi will be starring in the movie Unfair: The End, the final part of the series "Unfair". This movie will be released in September 2015. The producer, who did not know Mukaichi joined AKB48, said Mukaichi's role was a very important one and that even if Mukaichi has quit the entertainment industry, he would want her to return for this role.[9]
