Kings of Khulna (often abbreviated as KK) is the franchise representing Khulna in the Bangladesh NCL (National Cricket League) Twenty20, a Twenty20 cricket tournament. The team is led by Shakib Al Hasan. Shakib Al Hasan is also their team's icon player. The official colours are black and yellow. The team also has three players who are iconic. In Kings of Khulna it is bowler Abdur Razzak who has been on the Bangladesh national team as one of their top spinners. Also the opening batsman Imrul Kayes who has the most runs in the tournament. And also the batsman Dolar Mahmud. They are owned by ATN Bangla which is a leading television channel in Bangladesh.

The cricket ground for the Kings is the Khulna Divisional Stadium. So all their home matches are played at this stadium. Khulna Divisional Stadium, also known as Bir Shrestha Shahid Flight Lieutenant Motiur Rahman Stadium, is a One Day International cricket venue in Khulna, Bangladesh. The stadium holds 20,000 people and opened in 2004.
Owners
The owners are ATN Bangla, a TV channel in Bangladesh. It broadcasts on Sky 827. ATN is also the channel which broadcasts all the matches for this torunement. ATN Bangla is a Bengali language television channel. It transmits from its studio in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The channel is transmitted in South Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and North America. The channel offers a wide variety of programming including news, movies, dramas, talk shows, and more.
The channel started broadcast in South Asia on 16 July 1997. Broadcasts to Europe began in 2001.
One of its programmes, Amrao pari (We, too, Can), won the International Children’s Day of Broadcasting Award at the 32nd International Emmy Awards Gala in 2004. The documentary was shot and directed by 18 teenagers from Bangladesh, and was focused on the true story of Abul Khaer, a 9-year-old boy, who stopped a passenger train from approaching a disjointed railtrack, and prevented a train disaster.[1][2]
2009/10 season
On 12 April, the Kings started with defeat on their first match against Rajshahi Rangers for their opening match at the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan No 2 Ground in Savar. It was there where they lost by 36 runs. Mukhtar Ali from Rajshahi Rangers was awarded man of the match taking a five wicket haul for 21 runs. The Kings had started their tournament on a low.
On 13 April, Khulna was playing against Cyclones of Chittagong for their second match at the Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. They had a great victory by 78 runs. Imrul Kayes was given the man of the match award for scoring 71 runs in 75 balls.
On 15 April, the Kings played Dhaka Dynamites at the Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. They lost by 7 wickets with 7 balls remaining on that day. Mohammad Ashraful from Dhaka Dynamites was given the man on the match award for picking up 3 wickets for 20 runs.
On 17 April, for their fourth match at the Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium in Dhaka they were to play Sultans of Sylhet. Sylhet won the match by 37 runs. Mohammad Fariduddin from Sultans of Sylhet got the man of the match award for getting 3 wickets for 16 runs.
On 18 April, Khulna eased a victory a brilliant match over Barisal Blazers at the Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium. Khulna won by 45 runs. Abdur Razzak got his man of the match award getting 3 wickets for 17 runs only.
Kings of Khulna finished fourth of the table.
On 19 April, the Kings had to play Sultans of Sylhet in the semi-finals after their victory to them in their previous match at the Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium. They won by 12 runs in the end. The man of the match was Mahela Udawatte for an allround performance scoring 31 off 62 balls. Khulna had made it to the finals.
On t20 April was the final of the NCL T20. Khulna were to play Rajshahi Rangers. The match was tense with one wicket to Rajshahi, who bowled Khulna all out to win the tournament. The man of the match was Qaiser Abbas from Rajshahi Rangers scoring 61 runs off 63 balls.
