Kivijärvi is a municipality of Finland.

It is located in the province of Western Finland and is part of the Central Finland region. The municipality has a population of 1,225 (30 June 2015)[2] and covers an area of 599.86 square kilometres (231.61 sq mi) of which 115.81 km2 (44.71 sq mi) is water.[1] There are all together 89 lakes in Kivijärvi. Biggest lakes are Kivijärvi, Heitjärvi and Heikinjärvi.[6] The population density is 2.53 inhabitants per square kilometre (6.6/sq mi). Salamajärvi National Park is partly located in Kivijärvi.

The municipality is unilingually Finnish.
