Kościelec [kɔɕˈt͡ɕɛlɛt͡s] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Proszowice, within Proszowice County, Lesser Poland Voivodeship, in southern Poland. It lies approximately 7 kilometres (4 mi) east of Proszowice and 36 km (22 mi) north-east of the regional capital Kraków.[1]

The village has a population of 540.

In the centre of the village is situated the church of Saint Adalbert (św.Wojciech in polish). This historic building was founded in 1231 by the bishop of Krakow, Wisław Zabawa. The church represents Romanesque architecture with a notable influence of the Baroque style. Since foundation the church has been rebuilt and restored many times.
