Kyle Milne Cameron (born 15 January 1997) is a professional footballer who plays as a defender for League Two club York City, on loan from Premier League club Newcastle United.
Early life
Born in Hexham, Northumberland, Cameron attended Bedlingtonshire Community High School while playing for Cramlington Juniors and Northburn.[2]
Club career
Cameron started his career with Newcastle United aged nine, and broke into the under-18 team during the 2012–13 season while still a schoolboy.[2] He signed a scholarship with the club in June 2013.[3] Cameron joined Workington of the Northern Premier League Premier Division on a youth loan on 10 December 2015,[4][5] making his debut five days later in a 2–1 away win over Marine, in which he scored in the third minute and was named man of the match.[6] Having made four appearances and scored one goal for Workington,[6] Cameron joined League Two club York City on a one-month youth loan on 11 January 2016.[7][8] He debuted five days later in York's 1–0 home defeat to Newport County.[9] Cameron's loan was extended until the end of 2015–16, having impressed in his four starts for the club.[10]
International career
Cameron represented England at under-16 and under-17 levels, before switiching his allegiance to Scotland, playing for the under-17s at the 2014 UEFA European Under-17 Championship.[2]
