Lara Baldesarra (born April 2, 1985) is a television broadcaster who anchors World Sport and NewsCenter on CNN International and Early Start on CNN. Baldesarra appears across CNN International, CNN and HLN as an analyst and contributor.

Background

Baldesarra is an honors graduate of the University of Toronto, earning a Specialist Degree in Urban and Economic Geography. Baldesarra is also an alumna of the University of Guadalajara in Guadalajara, Mexico and the Institut de Touraine in Tours, France. She continued her studies with post-graduate studies of Broadcast Journalism.

Broadcasting

Baldesarra began her sports broadcasting career with TSN.[1]

Baldesarra was the host on an AM sports radio show in Toronto, before accepting an offer from the Fox Soccer Report to become a new anchor in the mix on the weekday, hour-long program.

In 2011, Baldesarra joined Sportsnet, where she anchored her own morning sports show "Sportsnet World Connected". While at Sportsnet, Baldesarra also hosted and reported on various sporting events.

Baldesarra joined the Golf Channel in 2012. She was the host of the “Grey Goose 19th Hole”, anchored “Golf Central”, the network’s signature news show, and covered daytime breaking news and press conferences.

On November 13, 2013, CNN announced that Baldesarra joined the network’s sports unit in Atlanta. From December 2013, she anchors World Sport.[2] Baldesarra also contributes to shows across the network, and anchors Early Start and NewsCenter. She has appeared on various Turner properties such as HLN and PGA.com.
