Liam McEwan (born 1995) is an award winning television presenter, radio host and social media personality living in Auckland, New Zealand. He is currently working with J-14 Magazine, Twist (magazine), M Magazine, and "The 4.30 Show" (Whitebait-TV) with a focus on celebrity interviews, music, entertainment, and social media.
McEwan started his radio career at the age of 13 in 2009 with a Sunday morning show on The Flea FM,[1] and over the years, saw his show grow to gain an international listener base, with listener numbers ranging from 45,000 - 55,000 each week, either listening live, or via podcast. This made his show the most listened to show on a community station worldwide. The success of this show gained McEwan the attention of various celebrities and media outlets, including international Social Media awards the Shorty Awards.
In October 2013, McEwan announced that he would be leaving The Flea FM to pursue his radio career at iHeartRadio. In March 2015, he announced that he was leaving iHeartRadio.
He is currently working with Whitebait-TV as a presenter on "The 4.30 Show" (TV2 (New Zealand) show), as well as a video content presenter for J-14 Magazine, Twist (magazine), and M Magazine.
Listener participation plays a big part during his shows. McEwan uses his Twitter account as a way to keep in touch with listeners, and to take listener requests.
In August 2013, the New Zealand Herald named McEwan 'New Zealand's third most influential Tweeter' and dubbed him 'Radio DJ of the year'.[2]
McEwan attended the 2015 Billboard Music Awards, 2015 Teen Choice Awards, 2015 MTV Video Music Awards and the 2015 American Music Awards. He reported on the red carpet, interacting with singers Shawn Mendes and Jennifer Lopez, social media stars Nash Grier and Cameron Dallas, magician David Copperfield, girl groups Fifth Harmony and Little Mix, and more.
Shorty Award Nomination and Win
In March 2012, McEwan was nominated for an international Shorty Award in Radio.[3] In April, it was announced that all six nominees for this award all tied at first equal. McEwan was congratulated at the ceremony.[4] In July 2013, it was announced that after being nominated for a second year in a row, McEwan had come first place in the 2013 Shorty Award ceremony under the 'Best Radio' category.[5]

As documented in one of his Twitter posts, he attended a special Britney Spears event and was photographed with the pop singer.[6] He has also been associated with Ed Sheeran,[7] Ellie Goulding,[8] Noah Cyrus,[9] Olivia Holt, Zendaya, Meghan Trainor, and The Jacksons. McEwan has also been photographed with Miley Cyrus, Ariana Grande and Selena Gomez.
