Liam Phillip Smith (born 28 September 1995 in South Shield) is an English professional footballer. He plays as a midfielder for Blackpool on loan from Newcastle United.

Smith graduated from the Newcastle United Academy in 2015, signing his first professional contract with the club.[2] In March 2016, it was announced that Smith joined Blackpool on a two-month youth loan deal.[3] He made his professional debut in Blackpool's match against Coventry City in March 2016. Liam played in Blackpool's 4-0 defeat to Wigan Athletic to see them to a quick return to the Championship, where Blackpool fight relegation. [4]
