Latvijas Vēstnesis (The Latvian Messenger) is the public journal of the Republic of Latvia. The journal was founded 2 February 1993 by the Latvian government according to its 47th resolution, bearing the title "On the establishment of the state corporation Latvijas Vēstnesis" (Latvian: Par valsts uzņēmuma "Latvijas Vēstnesis" nodibināšanu). The first journal was issued 25 February 1993, and has been published in more than 4,500 editions since.

Latvijas Vēstnesis is available on internet since 1995; since 1 January 2007 their website has free access. Latvijas Vēstnesis also manages the web portal likumi.lv, a portal that provides access to all Latvian legislation, official documents of the Latvian government and international agreements acceded by Latvia.
