The mixtape consists of 14 tracks, with guest appearances from artists such as Burberry Perry, Young Thug, Skippa Da Flippa, Quavo, BIGBRUTHACHUBBA and Byou and production from Burberry Perry, 1mind, Earl & E Bundles, Earl & Bangs, Ducko McFli, Digital Nas, Grandfero, Big Lo$, Colby Crump and SAGE.[1]

Background

Lil Boat is a hip-hop concept mixtape. Yachty’s lyrics are immersed in the symbolic meanings of sailing and juuging.

Cover

The cover was designed by Mihailo Andic. According to Andic, photographs were taken of Yachty and then it took approximately 48 hours from when the photographs were taken to finish the cover. It also uses stock images and images obtained off Tumblr.[2]

Critical reception

Upon its release, Lil Boat received generally positive reviews from critics. Sheldon Pearce from Pitchfork gave it a rating of 4.8, citing it "makes a grating mess of varying influences."[3]
