List of Gloucestershire County Cricket Club players

This is a complete list in alphabetical order of cricketers who have played for Gloucestershire in major double-innings matches since the club was founded in 1870. Gloucestershire had major status from its inception: i.e., classified as an unofficial first-class team by substantial sources from 1870 to 1894;[1][2] classified as an official first-class team from 1895 by Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) and the County Championship clubs;[3] and classified as a List A team since the beginning of limited overs cricket in 1963.[4]

The details are the player's usual name followed by the years in which he was active as a Gloucestershire player and then his name is given as it appears on match scorecards (i.e., usually his surname preceded by all initials). Note that many players represented other first-class teams besides Gloucestershire and some, especially the Grace brothers, played for teams styled Gloucestershire before 1870. Current players are shown as active to the end of the 2015 season.[5]
