Metrolink is the commuter rail system serving Los Angeles, California, United States and the Greater Los Angeles Area of Southern California. The system is owned by the Southern California Regional Rail Authority and operated under contract by Amtrak,[1] serving six counties in the region—Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, and Ventura. The system features 56 stations along seven lines, with a total route length of 512 miles (824 km). In the second quarter of the 2012 fiscal year, Metrolink averaged 169 weekday trains in operation, with a ridership of 43,810.[2]
Lines

Union Station in Los Angeles serves as a hub for Metrolink, with six out of seven Metrolink lines terminating at the station.
