List of Panic! at the Disco band members
Panic! at the Disco (stylized for a time as Panic at the Disco[1]) is an American rock band from Las Vegas, Nevada, formed in 2004 and featuring the current lineup of lead vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Brendon Urie, accompanied on tour by bassist/backing vocalist Dallon Weekes, lead guitarist/backing vocalist Kenneth Harris, and drummer Dan Pawlovich. The group was originally formed by former members Spencer Smith and Ryan Ross.[2] The band has gone through multiple line-up changes in their career spanning five albums. There have been six official members of Panic! at the Disco, six touring members and twenty-six session members.[3][4][5][6]
The bands first lineup change was in 2006, with the departure of bassist Brent Wilson, who was kicked out of the band mid-tour after not playing bass on the bands debut album, A Fever You Can't Sweat Out, and not keeping up with the band's playing standards.[7][8][9][10] This later caused Wilson to claim the statements were false and sued the band. Wilson was replaced by Jon Walker, who also played guitar and keyboards in addition to bass for the band.
The bands second lineup change came when founding member and lead guitarist and vocalist Ryan Ross and bassist and guitarist Jon Walker announced their departure from the band in mid-2009.[11][12] Ross and Walker were replaced by touring members Dallon Weekes and Ian Crawford, with Weekes playing bass, keyboards, synthesizer, piano, guitar, baritone guitar, and vocals, along with Crawford playing lead guitar and backing vocals.[13] The band's next lineup change would not come until 2010 when Weekes was asked to join the band as an official member nearing the end of the recording of the bands third studio album Vices & Virtues. Weekes' membership as an official member would not become public until 2012.[14]
The bands most recent lineup changes came in 2012, 2013 and 2015. Ian Crawford, who joined the band in 2009 after the departure of Ryan Ross and Jon Walker, left the band citing his desire to make "real, genuine music".[15] He was replaced in 2013 by Kenneth "Kenny" Harris.[16] Later in 2013 after the release of the bands fourth album, Too Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die!, drummer Spencer Smith went on hiatus due to addiction and substance abuse and was replaced by touring drummer, Dan Pawlovich.[17][18] In 2015, drummer Spencer Smith officially left the band and bassist Dallon Weekes has changed from an official member to that of a touring member once again,[19][20] leaving vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Brendon Urie as the only member of the official lineup.
