Maxine first appeared following Steph Haydock asking for money, she was a previous student at Waterloo Road before, who left home because of her relationship with her step dad. Maxine's relationships first began with Lewis Seddon, the school's first biggest old bad man from the very beginning. She had a child with him, but he passed away because of her drug abuse and lack of care and support during pregnancy. Later, she became very close with former character Earl Kelly. He wasn't very different from Seddon as a character, although Seddon ended up being a good civilian in the end before his character was axed off along with many other gooden's.

Earl Kelly sadly shot Maxine and killed her in the mad attempt of trying to get her to stay with him, despite her finding out about him and another woman he has a baby with. The producers even made it much more sinister for her to find out he was willing to give the other woman money, sell his child, and pretend he never met her.

Maxine's close friends were Chlo Grainger and Janeece Bryant. Both Janeece and Steph turned up in Maxine's final moments, with her unmissable one-liner to steph, apologising for not being a very good 'daughter' for her.

Stacey Appleyard first appeared showing her geeky obsession with Tom Clarkson, Chlo's and Mika's soon to be step-dad. She blares out to Janeece that Clarkson and her were in bed together the night before she stayed over Chlo Grainger's to work on turning her poem into a song for him. The teachers and students eventually found out, as you would thanks to rumors. Because of this accusation,Tom threatens to walk out of his job.

Stacey returns to school after being suspended for the accusation of Tom. Despite this not being true, Tom fatally loses his unborn baby with Mika and Chlo's mum. She tries to fix Kim and her dad, sending texts and gifts to kim, getting the two of them to meet up for a date. Turns out they both work out, and it was Stacey who set them together.

With outstanding 5 episodes, she proved to be a very good addition to the show, and is also just as memorable as everybody else.
