Kanye West, an American rapper, has received 92 awards out of 369 nominations, including 21 Grammy awards. West's debut album, The College Dropout (2004), spiraled him into the Best Rap Album slot at the 2005 Grammy Awards, three MOBO Awards, and Best New Artist at the BET Awards. His second album, Late Registration (2005), earned him seven Grammy nominations, two nominations at the BRIT Awards, and Best Rapper at the Vibe Music Awards. "Stronger", the second single from his third album, Graduation (2007), won Best Video at the MOBO Awards, earned a Video of the Year nomination at the MTV Video Music Awards, and a Best Video nomination at the MTV Europe Music Awards.

The Meteor Ireland Music Awards is an awards ceremony bestowed upon professionals in the music industry in Ireland and further afield. Apart from 2011, they have been bestowed each year since 2001, replacing the IRMA Ireland Music Awards held in the 1990s. Promoted by MCD Productions, the ceremony at which these accolades are bestowed upon worthy recipients is referred to colloquially as The Meteors, though occasionally also by its full title.
The MOBO Awards (an acronym for "Music of Black Origin") were established in 1996 by Kanya King. They are held annually in the United Kingdom to recognize artists of any race or nationality performing music of black origin. West has received five awards from twelve nominations.[20][21][22][23]
