Adidas Yeezy
Adidas YEEZY is the official sneaker and clothing collaborative project between Adidas and Kanye West. It consists of menswear, womenswear, and footwear: Adidas Yeezy Boost 750, Adidas Yeezy Boost 350, and Adidas 950 Boots.[1] West has premiered the lines at several Yeezy Season events.[2]
Style
The collaboration's first season was noted for its stripped down, ready-to-wear style, which drew on military clothing and flesh-toned colors.[3] Vogue observed a pessimistic aesthetic and "a protective toughness, a body-conscious severity that made the clothes more than a simple accessory."[3]
Yeezy Boost
On December 3, 2013, Adidas confirmed a new shoe collaboration deal with West.[4] West confirmed the release of the Adidas Yeezy Boosts with a Twitter announcement directing fans to the domain yeezy.supply.
The release of the Yeezy Boosts and the full Adidas collaboration was showcased in New York City on February 12, 2015, with free streaming to 50 cinemas in 13 countries around the world.[5] An initial release of the Adidas Yeezy Boost 750 was limited to 9000 pairs to be available only in New York City via the Adidas smartphone app; the Adidas Yeezy Boosts were sold out within 10 minutes.[6] The shoes released worldwide on February 28, 2015, were limited to select boutique stores with Adidas Consortium accounts and Adidas Originals stores.
[7]On June 27, 2015, Adidas released the first color way of the low-top sneaker, the Yeezy 350 in "turtle dove" for $200 USD. [8] On August 22, 2015, Adidas released the 350 in the color way of "pirate black" for $200 USD. [9] On November 15, 2015, Adidas released the 350 in the color way of "moon rock" for $200 USD. [10] On December 19, 2015, Adidas released the second color way of the high-top, Yeezy Boost 750 in the color way of "black" for $350 USD. [11] On December 29, 2015 Adidas released the 350 in the color way of "oxford tan" for $200 USD. [12] On February 19, 2016, Adidas released an updated version of the 350 in the color way of "pirate black" that retailed at $200 USD. [13]More color ways were spotted at Kanye West's fashion show at Madison Square Garden on February 11, 2016, but Adidas has not confirmed anything.
