Raúl in 2012

Raúl is a retired Spanish footballer. He is second in the list of top goalscorers in the history of the Spain national football team, with 44 goals in 102 caps between 1996 and 2006.[1] He also scored 5 goals in three World Cups that he played, from 1998 to 2006.

Raúl recorded two hat-tricks for the national team, both during the Euro 2000 qualifier. On March 27, 1999, he scored four goals in a 9-0 win over Austria and four days later scored three in a 6–0 victory over San Marino.
