Municipal government
Arkansas municipalities are divided into three categories based on population.[2]
- City of the First Class: 2500+ population
- City of the Second Class: 500-2,499 population
- Incorporated Town: 499 or fewer population
Arkansas does not use villages or civil townships as possible designations for its minor civil divisions.[3] In Arkansas, a municipality may extend into multiple counties.
