- Metal Gear Solid: Tactical Espionage Action (1998): The story is set in 2005, as rebel terrorist group FOXHOUND captures the Shadow Moses island in Alaska.
- SWAT 3: Close Quarters Battle (1999): The game is set in 2005, as the United Nations are about to sign a nuclear abolishment treaty in Los Angeles.
- Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield (2003): The arrest of an aged Nazi war criminal touches off a Neo-fascist terror campaign in Western Europe and South America. According to the introduction, In 2005,(sixty years after the defeat of Nazi Germany) the terror starts again... Old hatreds still linger, old mysteries remain unsolved, and old enemies may yet rise again to carry on their ancient battles, armed now with the tools of modern terror!
Comics
- House of M (X-Men comic book event) (2005): November 2, 2005; is called M-Day in Marvel Comics, because that was when Scarlet Witch changed 200,000,000+ mutants into regular humans. There were 198 mutants left. Most of the ex-mutants later got their powers back after several years.
