Love Me, Love My Mouse is a 1966 Tom and Jerry cartoon directed and produced by Chuck Jones and co-directed by Ben Washam. The title Love Me, Love My Mouse is a play-on-words of the phrase "Love me, love my dog." Unlike most other cartoons, this one shows Jerry in a deliberately malicious light with him frequently framing Tom so that he is in trouble. It is also the first Tom and Jerry cartoon to be animated by Phil Roman.
This short is one of the very few which Tom emerges victorious over Jerry.
Plot
Tom, in love with Toots, goes to her house, carrying Jerry in a ring box. Tom presents Jerry to his love interest, but Jerry pretends to be frightened of Tom and cuddles up to Toots, who instantly sympathises with him, taking sides with the mouse. Jerry then aims to gain more sympathy from Toots by framing Tom, jumping into his mouth repeatedly, with Toots coming to Jerry's rescue.
Tom then ties Jerry up and tries to drop a concrete block on him, but Toots interferes, causing Tom to accidentally drop the block onto himself. Toots is putting baby powder on Jerry, while a bandaged Tom hobbles to the dinner table. Toots kisses Jerry, but while doing so, she finds him to be tasty. She suddenly has a change of heart and decides to eat Jerry, taking sides with Tom. Jerry escapes, with Toots chasing him with a fork and knife, and Tom limps out, slowly following her.
