Lymari Nadal Torres[2][note 1] (born 11 February 1978[3]) is a Puerto Rican actress, film producer and scriptwriter.[1] She has performed different roles in several films including American Gangster and Battlestar Galactica: The Plan. In 2011, she also produced her own film, America, she was also its writer.

Life and career

Nadal Torres was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico to Daniel Nadal and Anaida Torres.[4] She graduated from high school at Academia Santa María. She received her first college degree from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico. [1] In an interview, she said about herself that she was "Ponce-blooded."[1] In 2001, she moved to Los Angeles, California, and married actor and director Edward James Olmos in 2002.[5]

Nadal always wanted to be an actress. She went to Mexico and England to learn acting.[1] After completing her acting classes, she felt very strongly that she was still rejected within the acting industry. Nadal began to take part in her husband's theatrical arts company as a producer[1] and plans to open a film school in her native Puerto Rico.[6]
