Mao Ichimichi (市道 真央 Ichimichi Mao, born February 1, 1992 in Osaka, Japan) is a Japanese actress and a former gravure idol who also does voice over work under the stylized name M·A·O.[2] In 2011 she made her major acting debut in the role of Luka Millfy/Gokai Yellow in the Super Sentai series Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger.

Biography

Ichimichi made her debut under the stage name Rio Minami (南 梨央 Minami Rio) in October 2006 as a seventh-generation member of Horipro Osaka's idol group, "HOP Club".[3] In 2007, she appeared in the variety show Enter! 371. After the release of the idol DVD Ike Ike Go! Go! HOP Club in 2010, she parted ways with Horipro Osaka. Moving to Tokyo to restart her career, she abandoned her stage name and signed with Yellow Cab Next. Ichimichi became a co-host in the Weekly Shōnen Jump variety show Sakiyomi Jan Bang!.

In 2011, Ichimichi landed the role of Luka Millfy/Gokai Yellow in the Super Sentai series Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger, following the footsteps of her former HOP Club batch mate Suzuka Morita. In June of that year, she released her first solo idol DVD A Distant Shore, along with a companion photo book of the same title. She then promoted her second idol video Apartment and photo book Afternoon Tea on December.
