The Ancient Egyptian Baker's tool hieroglyph is Gardiner sign listed no. U31 for a 'bread-baking oven tool'.

When the 'baker's tool hieroglyph' is used in the vertical, the hieroglyph represents in the Ancient Egyptian language hieroglyphs a second form of the alphabetic consonant letter m,^[1] The other, older, and more common vertical m is the owl hieroglyph, Gardiner no. G17. The common form of the horizontal m is a plinth shaped hieroglyph, no. Aa15.
