Mahira Hafeez Khan (pronounced [maɦiːraː hafiːz kʰan]; born 21 December 1982) is a Pakistani actress and former VJ.[2][3][4]

After attending Foundation Public School, she moved to United States at the age of 17 and attended University of Southern California, but did not complete her degree.[1]

Career

Khan began her career as a VJ when she was 16 years old.[5] She worked as a VJ on Most Wanted on MTV Pakistan and Weekends with Mahira on Aag TV.

In 2011, Khan made her film debut with Bol, directed by Shoaib Mansoor. [6] The same year, she acted in her first television drama, ARY Digital's romance Neeyat.[7] She next appeared in television program Humsafar, for which she received positive reviews.[8][9] Her other dramas include the 2013 spiritual romance Shehr-e-Zaat and the 2014 romantic drama Sadqay Tumhare. She played a starring role in a romantic drama, Bin Roye (2015),[10] a supporting role in the biographical drama Manto,[11] and a leading role in coming-of-age drama Ho Mann Jahaan (2016),[12] all of which rank among the highest-grossing Pakistani films.[2][13][14][15][16] Khan has finished shooting for Raees, an upcoming Indian film directed by Rahul Dholakia.[17]

Khan was listed tenth in a 'Sexiest Asian Women' poll by Eastern Eye in 2015;[3][18][19][20] she was also called Pakistan's sexiest woman in 2015.[21][22]

Personal life

Khan was married to Ali Askari.[23] During an interview on The Reham Khan Show, Mahira stated that her parents are Urdu-speaking Pathans.[24][25]
