Saba Qamar Zaman (Urdu: صبا قمرزمان) is a Pakistani model and actress. Her versatility and professionalism has made her one of the most critically acclaimed, loved actresses in Pakistan. [1] She has appeared in a variety of television dramas and advertisements.
In 2010, she played a politician in PTV's drama Jinaah Ke Naam opposite Sami Khan. After that she appeared in "Tera Pyar Nahi Bhoole", a romantic drama opposite Ahsan Khan. She has played roles in Pani Jaisa Piyar, Jo Chalay To Jaan Se Guzar Gaye, Mein Chand Si and Thakan. She has appeared in the hit 2015-16 Hum TV dramas: Digest Writer, Kaisay Tum Se Kahoon and Sangat.
Career
Qamar first appeared in the television series Main Aurat Hoon. She won the PTV award for the best TV actress in both public and jury choice categories in the 16th Annual PTV awards on 23 July 2011.[2]
In 2010, Qamar appeared in Dastaan playing the role of Ahsan Khan's wife and Sanam Baloch's sister-in-law. The serial is one of the most top rated serials of Pakistan. In 2012, Qamar appeared in Maat playing the role of Saman, an ambitious and arrogant girl, who wishes to be successful and rich in life. The drama is one of the most highest-rated serials and one of the most loved of Pakistani television industry.[3]
She has appeared in a variety of dramas, ranging from Bunty I Love You on Hum TV, Baimaan Mohabbat and Sannata on ARY Digital, to the comedy series, Miss Fire on Geo Television in 2014. She starred in Main Manto directed by Sarmad Sultan Khoosat.[4] She is currently filming the spin-off to Karachi Se Lahore called Lahore Se Aagey.
A lot of her work has seen co-stars Mikaal Zulfiqar and Ahsan Khan in them.
Bollywood
Qamar initially said that she had no intention of working in Bollywood, although she liked Bollywood movies. However, later, she said that she been offered many roles in many different Bollywood movies, such as the parallel lead in Love Aaj Kal and a supporting role in Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai and Heroine. Saba was also offered a film opposite Randeep Hooda, which she declined.[5] She thinks a film opposite Ranbir Kapoor or Shah Rukh Khan is worthy of a film in Bollywood, but not opposite Emraan Hashmi.[6] Qamar said that she would "love to do a film with Irfan Khan" as he is a "brilliant actor". Other films that Qamar rejected include Cocktail, Delhi-6 and 'Calling Sehmat'.
'HIP In Pakistan', after conducting an interview with the team of Lahore Se Aagey, which was published on 07th April 2016, confirmed from Saba that she had signed a Bollywood film which she would go to shoot for in India in July 2016.[7][8]
