Manshiyat Ezzat

The townsite of Manshiyat Ezzat is located in the eastern portion of Dakahlia Governorate, in the Delta region of Egypt.

In the time of the Old Kingdom, 1st Dynasty, it was a town where cemetery plots of Pharaoh Den's reign, resulted in one of the ceremonial cosmetic palettes of predynastic Egypt was interred. The cosmetic palette is one of the more ornate examples, the Manshiyat Ezzat Palette. It contains the twin lion serpopards as found on the famous Narmer Palette, the cosmetic eyepaint mixing circle, and some of the Egyptian fauna of mammals. Many of the cosmetic palettes of Ancient Egypt were found in the Saqqara region cemeteries, (to the south).
