Mariya Vasilyevna Stadnik (born 3 June 1988 in Lviv, Ukrainian SSR, USSR) is an Ukrainian (until 2007)[1] and Azerbaijani (since 2007) female wrestler.

Career

In 2006, She was disqualified for a period of one year for failing a doping test in 2006.[1] She is a world and European champion in freestyle wrestling. Furthermore, Stadnik competed in the 48 kg weight class at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and 2012 London Olympics and won a bronze and a silver respectively.[2][3]

Personal life

Mariya has been married to Andriy Stadnik, a wrestler from Ukraine. Her sister-in-law Yana Stadnik competes in the same weight category as Mariya.
