Markus Kattner (born 24 September 1970 in Bayreuth, West Germany) is a German-Swiss football administrator. He is acting General Secretary of FIFA.[1][2]

He grew up in Munich and was then an active basketball player in the German Basketball 2nd division during four years. After schooling he graduated and made a degree in engineering at Munich’s Technical University. After that he obtained a PHD from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne. Before Kattner joined FIFA in 2003 as Director of Finance he worked for McKinsey in Switzerland. By nature he is also a football fan and his favourite club is Bayern Munich.[3]

Kattner has German-Swiss dual nationality and is married with three daughters. His hobbies other than football include running, skiing and playing piano.
