Martin & King was a manufacturing company based in Melbourne, Australia. The company specialised in motor vehicle bodies[1] and railway locomotives and rolling stock.[2]

History

The company was initially based in the Melbourne suburb of Armadale from at least 1948,[3] later opening a plant for railway stock at Clayton in the 1950s. In 1959 a new plant was opened at Somerton, which was provided with its own railway siding. The company became part of Clyde Engineering in 1960.[4] The Somerton plant is today occupied by Downer Rail.
