Maschinenstil is an album by the Japanese noise musician Merzbow.[1]
The title of "Stormy Monday" was taken from the first track of Lee Michaels self-titled album, due to the organ sound of the track. The drums were sampled from Terry Bozzio's drum solo on "Hands with a Hammer" from Frank Zappa's You Can't Do That on Stage Anymore, Vol. 3. "Shin Kawasaki" was inspired by the industrial landscape of Shin-Kawasaki, as seen from the Yokosuka Line. The use of the Roland TR-606 drum machine and Bias EXD drum synth give the track an early 1980s techno pop sound.[2]
An alternate version of "Shin Kawasaki" was included on Springharp in the Last of Analog Sessions box set.
