Mattos is an unincorporated community in Alameda County, California. It is located 1.5 miles (2.4 km) northeast of downtown Newark,[2] at an elevation of 39 feet (12 m).
The name is in honor John Garcia Mattos, Sr., who settled here in 1879.[2]
