Maria Mika Maxine Perez Medina (born 10 May 1990) is a Filipino designer, model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Universe-Philippines 2016 on 17 April 2016. She is set to represent the Philippines at the Miss Universe 2016 pageant.

Early life

Medina was born in Quezon City, Philippines. She studied elementary and secondary education at the Angelicum College in Quezon City. She is an interior designer who graduated from the De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde and the Philippine School of Interior Design with an experience in designing residential condominiums. Medina is also a commercial and print model.

Binibining Pilipinas 2016

Medina participated at the Binibining Pilipinas 2016 on 17 April 2016 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Philippines, where she was crowned Miss Universe-Philippines 2016. She was crowned by the outgoing Miss Universe-Philippines 2015 and the reigning Miss Universe, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach. She will represent the Philippines at the 2016 Miss Universe pageant.[1]

As Miss Universe-Philippines, Medina will represent the Philippines at the 2016 Miss Universe pageant, and will attempt to succeed the incumbent Miss Universe, fellow Filipina Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach.
