McLaughlin and Harvey is a Building and Civil Engineering firm founded in 1853. It operates all over UK and Ireland from its head offices located in Mallusk, just north of Belfast.
History
Henry McLaughlin and William Harvey first established their business as builders and contractors in Belfast in 1853.
McLaughlin & Harvey undertakes a wide range of work in the public and private sectors, including commercial, leisure and residential projects.[1] The company's divisions include Building Construction, Civil Engineering, Facilities Management & Small Works, Frameworks, and Specialist Joinery.
The company have recently completed the new Stena Line Terminal in Belfast, and its equivalent at Loch Ryan in south west Scotland.[2] The company is also currently building the new Critical Care Building at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast.[3]
McLaughlin & Harvey have recently launched a new division called McLaughlin & Harvey Offshore which specialises in the design and installation of tidal and wave devices. McLaughlin & Harvey have successfully installed tidal devices in Orkney, Canada and Northern Ireland.
Other projects recently completed include ports, roads, railways, bridges, airports, lock gates, public realm schemes, marine, wind farms, schools, hospitals and shopping centres.
