Michael D. Cohen is an American lawyer, best known for his work as an attorney for Donald Trump and The Trump Organization. He joined the Trump Organization after having been a partner at the Phillips Nizer law firm.[1]

Cohen is Executive Vice-President of the Trump Organization, a co-president of Trump Entertainment, and is involved in Trump's 2016 presidential campaign.[2] He is also a member of the board of the Eric Trump Foundation, a children's health charity named for Eric Trump.[1]

Personal life

Cohen grew up on Long Island[1] and graduated from American University.[2] He volunteered for the 1988 presidential campaign of Michael Dukakis,[1] was a legislative intern for Congressman Joe Moakley,[3] and voted for Barack Obama in 2008, though he later became disappointed with Obama.[1] He also ran for New York City Council in 2003 as a Republican and briefly campaigned for a seat in the New York State Senate in 2010.[2][3] Before joining the Trump Organization, he bought several homes in Trump buildings.[3] Cohen lives in New York City with his wife and two children.
