Miffy and Friends is a Dutch-American stop-motion animated television series, based on the Miffy book series by Dutch artist Dick Bruna. It was originally aired on KRO in the Netherlands^[1] and Noggin in the United States.^[2]

Plot

The series focuses on the life of young rabbit Miffy. It is presented in a storybook style, with an unseen narrator explaining the actions of nonspeaking Miffy and her friends.

Characters

• Miffy - A rabbit and the series' star of the show. She is four years old and an aspiring artist who also likes to write.
• Mother Bunny - Miffy's mother and Father Bunny's wife.
• Father Bunny - Miffy's father and Mother Bunny's husband.
• Auntie Alice - Miffy's auntie and Father Bunny's sister.
• Grandma Bunny - Miffy's grandmother and Father Bunny's mother.
• Aggie - A rabbit who stays with Miffy every time.
• Melanie - A brown rabbit who is Miffy's pen friend.
• Snuffy - A brown female dog first introduced in the episode Miffy Meets Snuffy. She is one of Miffy's best friends.
• Boris - A bear who lives near Miffy. He enjoys building things. He has a girlfriend named Barbara.
• Barbara - A bear who is Boris's girlfriend.
• Poppy - A pig often seen gardening or reading. She has a niece named Grunty.
• Grunty - A pig often helps Poppy in the garden.

VHS and DVD releases

During the show's run, several VHS tapes including episodes of the series were produced.^[3] Select Miffy and Friends episodes were included on themed DVD discs released in 2009.^[4]

Broadcast

The series made its world premiere on ITV in the United Kingdom.^[5] It aired on Noggin in the United States.^[6] In Canada, it was broadcast on Treehouse TV until 2009.^[7] It is currently aired on ABC Kids in Australia.^[8]
