Blaze and the Monster Machines is an educational American/Canadian CGI interactive animated television series learning about STEM. The series premiered on Nickelodeon on October 13, 2014. The first season ran for 20 episodes.[1]
On June 15, 2015, it was renewed for a second season.[2]
Characters
- Blaze (voiced by Nolan North) An orange-red monster truck who is good hearted, loyal and brave. He is Axle City's number one racer. At the start of Season 2, Blaze becomes the newest member of the Axle City Fire Department.
- AJ (voiced by Dusan Brown) is Blaze's best friend and driver, an eight-year-old science and technology expert.
- Starla (voiced by Kate Higgins) is a purple pickup truck, a roping expert and speaks with a thick southern accent. She runs a farm outside the city.
- Darington (voiced by Alexander Polinsky) is a clumsy yet fearless blue monster truck who loves stunts.
- Zeg (voiced by James Patrick Stuart) is half-triceratops, half-monster truck with brute tendencies. He has a short vocabulary and tends to refer to himself in third person.
- Stripes (voiced by Sunil Malhotra) is a striped truck with the abilities of a tiger such as a high sense of smell and retractable claws in his tires.
- Gabby (voiced by Angelina Wahler) is a knowledgeable mechanic who fixes up the trucks when they are damaged.
- Crusher (voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson) is Blaze and AJ's rival and the only villain in the series. He is childish, whiny, full of himself, and cheats in the majority of episodes to get his way. In episodes without an antagonist, he and Pickle instead serve as comic relief.
- Pickle (voiced by Nat Faxon) A green monster truck who is Crusher's sidekick despite Crusher's indifference towards him. He always follows Crusher wherever he goes. Pickle tends to look on the brighter side of things and is quite goofy. He is a fan of Blaze, much to the annoyance of Crusher, and also an animal expert
- Trayaurus (voiced by Joshua Daniel Depoy) a Zombie who just wants Blaze to lose at least 1 time (it does not mean he is not a fan of Blaze) just so Crusher can stop crying (on Runaway Rocket it was Pickle that won not Blaze, and Crusher did not cry 'cause it was a carnival game) Trayaurus got mad at Pegwheel when he was mean to Blaze (that was on Race to the Top of the World, on Treasure Track Pegwheel was nice to Blaze because Blaze fixed Pegwheel's Engine) when Trayaurus see's Zeg and Starla he would talk the same language as they do, he like to go on the bright side, and tends to be best friends with Pickle
