Nick Digital is an American animation studio. The studio, which opened in 1994, creates commercials and motion graphics, as well as CGI animation for 2D-animated shows on Nickelodeon, Nick Jr. and Nicktoons.
History
Nickelodeon Creative Labs was founded in 1994 by Amy Friedman. The company produced motion graphics and short-form material for the Nickelodeon network, including the award-winning Short Films by Short People interstitial series. In 1999, Nickelodeon Creative Labs became Nick Digital. In 2005, when Nickelodeon Studios closed, a majority of the animation staff from there moved into Nick Digital. In 2008, Viacom fired 750 staff - the whole studio, causing the studio to close. In 2009, Nickelodeon re-opened Nick Digital and set up a new division, Nickelodeon Creative Advertising, to produce advertising for kids & families.
