Minerva Academy F.C.
Minerva Academy Football & Cricket Club are a professional Indian football team based in Chandigarh, Punjab, India, that made senior level national debut in 2015–16 season[1] I-League 2nd Division. It is the second-highest football level in India after the I-League.
History
Minerva Academy Football Club has an illustrious history spanning back to the 1970s when Minerva FC of the Minerva Public School, Mohali (now closed) were the most formidable football team of the region. They dominated in competitions and won many national, school level tournaments till the 1990s after which the team lost funding due its parent school shutting down.
The Minerva Academy Football Club was founded in 2005 by Mr. Ranjit Bajaj to revive the glory of the Minerva FC of the Minerva Public School. Since then, MAFC has been working hard to regain its reputation and respect in the football scene and have won most of the tournaments they have participated in.
