Modh
Modh communities are communities that have become prosperous, appending the adjective to signify this. They include Vaniks (Bania),[1][2][3] Brahmins, carpenters and Ghanchis that originated from Modhera in Gujarat.
In Gujarati and Rajasthan, there are many examples of communities who take their name from a town and thus there exist both Modh Brahmins and Modh Vaniks.[4]
